Eaton Corporation in Sumter, SC has an opening for a Production Associate - Switchboard Assembly-1st Shift.
This position will receive work assignments from Supervisors, Production Coordinators, and/or internal customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Correctly select and install, in accordance to drawings/diagrams/blueprints, various
components/devices.
2. Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure quality criteria are met by review of documents, consciences assembly and proper employment of the switchboard quality verification checklist.
3. Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers so as to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner. Perform assigned function from oral / written instructions, drawings, travel documents, DMM system, manufacturing information, hand drawn layout request. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function.
4. Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
5. Ensure all safety and industrial hygiene requirements are maintained.
6. Work from manufacturing information such as Kanban cards, MI's, requisitions and oral or written instructions. Use of tape measures required.
7. Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one's function.
8. Perform Lean Initiatives.
9. Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.
10. Perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
11. Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution
Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with mechanical and/or electrical experience.
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend parts drawings and bills of materials.
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean processes and procedures related to manufacturing processes for electrical distribution equipment.
Must be eligible to work in the US on a continuous basis without Company sponsorship
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop; squat; reach to or below shoulder level; lift; carry; push; pull; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to climb; and reach above shoulder level. The employee is regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull greater than 50 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception. The employee is frequently required to use color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to listen and regularly required to talk.
Please note: No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter county (50 Miles) will be considered for this position.
