Our client, a manufacturer of specialty bearings for industrial applications, is seeking a Quality Engineer. This position will be based in Sumter, SC.
Duties/Responsibilities- Quality Engineer
Review company and customer drawing, changes, inspection sheets, process procedures, and quality manuals to ensure compliance to specifications.
Provide technical support to assigned areas.
Provide leadership to Quality Assurance Inspectors and Quality Technicians.
Interface with customer quality and engineering functional areas.
Performs vendor surveys and evaluates new suppliers.
Maintains plant gage and calibration systems.
Prepare prototype and submission documents.
Monitor plant returns.
Serves as plant AS 9001 auditor.
Ensures established goals for quality, scrap, and productivity are meet.
Qualifications- Quality Engineer
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field.
5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing operation( grinding, cutting, turning, milling).
Experienced with quality engineering principles.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
