Mental Health Counselor- Mobile Crisis- MHC III

Job ResponsibilitiesThere are multiple openings in this position.
This position is located at the SC Dept.
of Mental Health at Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) at the Sumter clinic located at 801 N.
Pike West, Sumter, SC 29153.
Under general supervision, provides assessments for patients being discharged from local hospitals, consultation, crisis intervention, and short-term case management services.
The overall purpose of this position is to assure timely access to outpatient mental health services for consumers and to divert future hospitalizations during the mental health crisis and provide on-call back -up.

Completes comprehensive initial clinical assessment and provide Diagnostic Impressions.
Provides emergency assessments of clients experiencing crisis.
Conducts face to face consultations as needed, arriving on-site no later than 60 minutes after the receipt of call.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Formulate level of care and disposition.
Educate clients on community resources and plan for immediate disposition regarding transfers and referrals.
Serve as a provider of the crisis intervention, by administering brief individual and/or family therapy to address crisis and identify triggers for crisis behavior to include development of crisis safety plan up to initiating the process of involuntary commitment.
Participate in weekly Assessment/Community Response staff meetings individual supervision PRN, and daily treatment staffing.
Serve as liaison to local CMHC to provide updates on SCDMH clients.
Complies with all applicable Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and Cultural Competence policies, procedures and regulations mandated by Federal and State laws as well as attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations.
Engage in additional trainings to maintain professional development.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned by supervisor.
Travel throughout the Santee-Wateree CMHC catchment area as directed.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsState Min.
T&E -A master's degree and professional experience in a human services or social services program.
DMH Min.
T&E (Internal) - A master's degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH and two (2) years of post-graduate experience in a clinical counseling program.
Note:
Applicants mustalso meet Agency minimum requirements to be considered for this position.
Valid driver's license required.
Preferred QualificationsPrefer experience in Mental Health Crisis.
License or license eligible preferred.

Santee-Wateree CMHC is also an approved site of the National Health Service Corps, (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000 to employees of NHSC-approved sites.
You must be a US citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired, and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans.
There is a two-year service commitment required as well.
