This position is located with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center Services.
This position will be embedded with Clarendon County Law Enforcement.
Under limited supervision, provides community-based clinical assessments and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, and families who have interacted with local law enforcement agencies.
This position will service children, adults, and families who have witnessed or experienced violence or trauma and will assess for other mental health needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides individual, family and group therapy with a trauma focused approach.
Provides other treatment-related services and functions within a community policing model including the provision of collaborative follow-up practices, coordination of monthly interdisciplinary program conferences.
Performs assessment and crisis counseling in the community setting and arranges for appropriate dispositions for cases requiring a different level of care.
Consults with psychiatrist as necessary and participates in treatment team meetings and clinic staff meetings.
Serves as liaison with personnel of other agencies/resources to facilitate treatment and coordinated care of patients.
Consults with law enforcement personnel, when deemed appropriate.
Participates in train-the-trainer certification and provides training on adverse childhood experiences to stakeholders, law enforcement and community partners in accordance with grant requirements.
Facilitates Crisis Intervention Training as requested.
Maintains, per established deadlines, documentation of all services in accordance with SCDMH Quality Management standards.
Participates in peer audits as scheduled.
Gathers and submits outcome data in accordance with grant deliverables.
Complies with all applicable Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance & Cultural Competence policies, procedures & regulations.
Complies with HIPPA and all Federal and State laws.
Attends all trainings classified as mandatory by Federal & State regulations.
Engages in additional trainings to maintain professional development.
Performs other duties as required and/or in accordance with grant deliverables.
Minimum and Additional Requirements State Requirements:
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Agency Requirements:
A master's degree from an accredited university in guidance, counseling or the social sciences with two (2) years of post-master's experience.
Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure.
